2007 Variety Performance Results
Check here for accurate, up-to-date information on the top performance of VICTORY® high oleic canola oil hybrid varieties for 2007. Variety performance field data was collected from 41 Western Canadian trial sites across Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. To ensure accurate yield information, Cargill used five different types of replicated trials against one check variety, under various environmental and soil conditions.
VICTORY® Performance Trials (VPT’s)

During 2007, growers across Western Canada actively participated in Cargill’s Specialty Canola Oils Program. Using their own field equipment and canola management practices, growers seeded replications for each variety. In each trial, VICTORY® hybrids were compared to DKL 71- 45, a leading commodity hybrid. At harvest, yields were measured with precision using weigh wagons. |
Research Strip Trials (RST's)

Research Strip Trials (RST's) are set up to show current and new Cargill varieties to producers and retailers, and to collect various data including yield. They are managed using our smaller field equipment that offers precision seeding and yield measurement. Each variety is replicated twice in blocks measuring 15’ by 90’. RST's were conducted at 16 sites across Western Canada in 2007. |
